- I've made and order of 155 PLN, so my shipment is free. Will I have to pay for it, when you do not have all the books i've ordered and the amount of them will grow less?

- The name „antiquarian bookshop” originates from latin word „antiquarius” which means „a person engaged in antiquities”.
Atticus Antiquarian Bookshop is an establishment engaged in objects of historical, estetic and material value.
- Atticus Antiquarian Bookshop offers mainly old and modern books from the field of humanities, but also etchings, graphics, maps, manuscripts, bills, leaflets, postcards, stocks, documents, paintings, sculptures, etc.
- Head office: Warsaw, Krakowskie Przedmieście Street 20/22 (near the main gate of Warsaw's University), opened from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. untill 7 p.m and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Branch Office in Empik „Megastore”: Warsaw, Marszałkowska Street 104/122 (1st floor – books department), opened from Monday to Saturday 11 a.m- 9 p.m., and on Sudays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- You can contact us by telephone or by the e-mail, using the numbers listed below or by filling the contact form here.
- We are receiving many letters but we answer only to the ones which are reffering to our profile as an establishment. After sending us an e-mail you will get an automatically generated response. If the further correspondence will be helpful we answer during three days.
- Of course we are interested in buying books (the editions before 1945 and so-called after war humanities alike) and other objects listed in our offer (look 2.)
- There are few ways of doing that:
The most convenient one is by simply phoning us and declaring a transaction
When the number of books is not very large you can bring them to our Head Office
However we usually ask to make a list of your propositions (author, title,year and place of edition) and bringing it to our Head Office in Warsaw or sending it to atticus@atticus.pl
We prefer buying books in our office but we can visit the client's house when the library is reffering to our profile and the number of books in it goes beyond 500 specimens.
- We do not price objects not-offered us for the sale.
- You can book objects offered by us any time. Such a position initially is being set aside by us for the determined time, during which you choose whether you will buy it or not. If the time is passed and you'll decide not to buy it, the object will get back to our offer unless you get in touch with us and prolong the booking. If the time of reservation surpass 24 hours the 10 % deposit will be needed.
- Your orders (wish-list) of books not being in our catalogue are realized when we buy them. The realization of this type of order begins with writing the client about the presence of desired object in our catalogue. Further procedure are equal with possible ways of buying in Atticus Antiquarian Bookshop. The information containing data of such objects (author, title or desired subject) and the personal data should be put in here.
- Placing an order to the sought book alone you are deciding you how a long way it will be important. If not you will print the concrete date, maximum time, which the order form will be still standing it is 18 months. If you order us to find a book, the order will be valid as long as you wish. If you do not tell us the date, the order will be valid during 18 months.

Of course you can stop getting the newsletter, if you do not want it any more. Just click on the internet link on the bottom of the latest newsletter.
- You can buy in our Warsaw's shops or in the Internet.
- Unfortunately we cannot give such a guarantee. Individuality is in the specificity (in most cases) of objects offered by us. It may happen that you will place an order of an object our selling person did not manage to withdraw from the offer. Fortunately it is exquisitely rare occurrence.
- Such a situation can happen only then when the payment is being realized by the bank transfer or a credit card. In such a situation we are writing the customer about it and return the possible overpayment onto your account (e.g. the order was on six positions, from which the shipment can be done only on five, so the price is being reduced for value of the absent object and the mail-order overpayment). This kind of situation doesn't affect any discounts or promotions..
- Of course. We are using the most safe mechanisms (which are at the moment accessible) of managing data, i.e. of personal details and details about a credit card. In our Bookshop SSL protocol is a standard verified by Thawte Certifying Office.
- You can check it in our shipment department.
- In order to minimize shipping fees, we are linking next orders. If you placed one order and during two days another one, they will be put together in one parcel. In this way delivery charges will grow less.
Please remember that the shipment is carried out every day till the 12.00 a.m. After this time your disposition of linking orders can turn out ineffective.
- One should inform our Shipment Department before the parcel is handed over to the delivery man. The deadline of accomplishing such a task is dependant on individual choice of forms of the shipment made by the customer while ordering.
- The time when you will get your order depends on two things: the realization of shipment (3 days) and the time of delivery. If you've decided to use Polish Post services, it may take about 2-7 days, if Opek Courier Service, the delivery will be complete during 24 hours.
- Preparing the parcel is what we are calling the completing of the shipment. The preparation (dependant from availability of ordered objects) doesn't surpass 3 working days. If this time is prolonged, we are getting in touch with the customer.
- If you wish we can shorten the time of the completion of the shipment to the essential minimum (dependent on the stock point). It is possible also to shorten the time of the delivery - we can send ordered books with priority parcel (for ordering this one should add 1 PLN in this case) or with the courier service. In both cases the parcel will reach you within 24 hours from handing it to the delivery man. There is a possibility of delivering the parcel the same day it was ordered, but only in the area of Warsaw and when the ordered positions are in our main magazine. Such a request such must be made by phone, in the day of the assumed realization, till the 12:00 hour.

- Yes. The basis of our shipment fees is taken from price lists of the Polish Mail and the Opek Courier Company and they depend on the weight of books.
No, when there is a promotion or when the order will surpass the amount of 150 PLN
- To the catalogue prices of the objects, with possible discounts and promotions (link to current promotions) will be added delivery fees. In the case of the foreign shipment of objects dated before 1948 we have to ask for the permission of The National Library to the transport abroad (it costs 30 PLN and the process takes about a month). All these costs are making the final cost of the order. Every information about it will be given after filling the form about personal details, the way of the delivery and possible ways of payment.
- Do I have the possibility of changing the way of shipment?
Of course. Even if the process of ordering in the internet catalogue will be accomplished it is possible to get in touch with us. About the change in the decision one should inform us before we contact the delivery man.
- The Atticus Antiquarian Bookshop gives you the following possibilities of the realization of payments:
- with cash 1: you pay the postman or in the nearest post office using a receipt he left you. When you have chosen this way of payment you can also decide on using Opek Courier Service. Then you are also paying a fee for the delivery.(link to price lists)
- with bank transfer: choosing this way of payment you are paying when we gather all objects as ordered. When the parcel is ready, we will send you an e-mail with the request for the transfer containing all data, also an invoice when it is needed. We will send the package when the money will be on our account (it usually takes one day after the transfer was made).
- with credit card: we are accepting the majority of credit cards.
- with cash 2.: in both offices of the Atticus Antiquarian Bookshop. There is a possibility of ordering by telephone or on-line and finishing the transaction personally in our offices in Warsaw. We accept credit cards.
- Thanks to the All Pay system which we are using since September 2005 r., on-line payments can be realized with all kinds of credit cards except for cards of the Electron Visa given by banks different than INTELIGO.
- The card will be charged in the moment of making payment. The final cost is equal with the sum of costs of goods in the parcel, of delivery charges and possible costs connected with obtaining a permit from the National Library for the transport abroad.
- Yes, it is. The system charges your card in the moment of making payment. If your order can be fulfilled only partially, the overpayment will be returned onto your account. If we cannot fulfil your order at all, all the money you've send us will be returned onto your account number.
- All discounts and promotions that came with the order are active, even while the final sum of the order (due to our fault) will be less.
- Of course. In the Atticus antique shop a principle of the "Promotion of the month" is functioning. At the beginning of every month we are putting the information about current promotions on www.atticus.pl. The same information will be sent via the newsletter every month. (link to newsletter).
